We stayed a couple of nights in the Kalispell area at the home of Curt and Mary Ann Lund. We knew their kids as they grew up in our church and the Lunds moved out to Montana after the kids left home.
Just south of Kalispell we happened upon this motherless baby black bear. We were all looking forward to our first bear. The little bear even made the Kalispell news.
Crystal clear and cold, the lakes in Glacier National Park are inspiring.
The main road through Glacier is called the Road to the Sun through Logan Pass.
At the pass, the vistor center had just closed for the winter. The ranger said that this area can see eighty foot deep snow drifts!
A nice hike, not without some grousing by the kids, ends with an overlook view of another glacial lake. The trail also went through grizzly country, but we didn't get to take on any bears.
