We took a Ranger guided tour of part of Mammoth Cave's 370+ miles of cave.
There are pools and lakes underground as part of this massive system.
Mammoth Cave is unusually dry because of a cap of hard stone that protects it from water seepage so there are few areas of leached limestone formations. The frozen Niagara formation is one of these.
We enjoyed a quiet and relaxing weekend at our camp, right outside Mammoth Cave National Park.
